People remember me as Will Smith’s “Aunt Vivian" from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” My family and friends know me as a multi-gifted Renaissance woman. I was born blessed, and in 2008, encouraged by family and friends, I embarked on this new artistic adventure. Throughout my years of travel, I have captured images of portals, doors, gates and architectural details, some of which have sparked a strong emotional response in me; they awakened the sense of wonder and curiosity that took me back to my childhood when I was endlessly exploring what was behind the many doors that surrounded me. I majored in Interior Design and Architecture at Northwestern University and have since continued my enchantment with doors and architectural details. The time has come for me to share my photographic eye with you. I hope to awaken your childhood sense of wonder and curiosity with "FRESH PRINTS", a collection of limited edition, signed and numbered digital prints which can be viewed and ordered right here. The first collection is called "DOORS". Let me know what they inspire in you by emailing me at msdaphne@mac.com.

door |dôr| (dôr)
noun: any way to go in or out; passage; access; a movable structure for opening or closing an entrance, as to a building or room, or giving access to a closet, cupboard, etc.; a symbol of safety, coziness, hospitality and warmth; a symbol of passages through life
When, as children, we begin to assert our independence by crawling and ultimately walking, we invariably head for the cabinet doors that are accessible to us at eye level. The curiosity inherent in all of us is triggered, and the door is pulled open. Once we get the hang of it, a life-long quest is started; exploring what is behind the door. That same curiosity is nurtured as we go through life traveling and exploring the world of mysteries within us and around us. I have always been a curious child and hope through this series of photographs, I can encourage that same sense of adventure in you. Look at these doors and recall with the joy of a curious child, the passages in your life!
